The Team
As a practice of Architects, Urban Designers and Interior Designers, we provide a range of design consultancy services- from large scale master planning, architecture and interior all the way to custom pieces of furniture. We are hands-on and for us, the best creativity comes on site. We are fascinated by the transformative power of design, are uninhibitedly vocal about the Indian context, its many virtues, and understand well its multi-fold challenges. We tackle this through best practice knowledge from around the world, and through our founder’s wide-ranging experience across India and internationally across the U.K., the Middle-East, and Sri Lanka. The team has provided design services in 7 cities in India so far, Indore, Barwani, Khargone, Ratlam, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Bangalore as well as in rural India Borlay, Khandwa, Sirvel and Junajhira.
We are equally vocal about the planet, and advocate for environmental intelligence in all our projects. This is even more useful for our clients because it helps them live and breathe in cleaner natural air, save on energy bills, keeps their homes cool and allows their children to grow up amidst nature. We are all experiencing the heat island effect in our cities- we believe the way forward is to work with nature as a stakeholder in design.

You will get to know us, and we you, ensuring consistency, clear communication and a dedicated approach through every step of the way. We are part of the Client’s team – acting as the design leader appointed by them, for them, and not against them. This is a common misconception in the industry and we seek to challenge it.Clarity and transparency form the cornerstones of our practice.
Construction is an expensive business. We want our clients to get the best value for money, which in turn helps us generate the best value for ourselves. We give best practice advice on procurement routes, project management strategies as well as cost and time efficiency.We believe in elevating the everyday.
We have built affordable homes for first-time homeowners putting their lifelong savings into owning their own house, as well as dealt with expensive masterplans centered around creating high-quality public places. We are interested in creating beautiful spaces that are bespoke and breathing, that feel alive.
Finally, we are Registered Architects in India (a title protected and regulated by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi), and our founder is in the process of becoming a Chartered Architect in the United Kingdom, to be registered with the Architects Registration Board (ARB) and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
Anybody can be a designer (arguably) but not everyone knows how to be one, nor will take the responsibility associated with it. Only a professional will.
Aditi Dora
Principal Architect
Aditi is an Architect and Urbanist who leads the inter-disciplinary practice Bandhaan. She is a graduate from the Architectural Association, London, U.K., where she specialized in Housing and Urbanism and graduated in the top 10% of her class. Before setting up her own practice, she worked at Arup London as an Urban Designer and in various practices in India. Her work experience spans across diverse geographies around the world, such as the U.K., India, Sri Lanka and the Middle East. She has lectured internationally and published her work across various national and international fora. Additionally, she also holds Visiting Faculty positions in Indore and Mumbai and is currently a Mentor to graduating 3rd and 5th year students at the AA.
